WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE

I am an Instructional Technologist by profession and a lifelong autodidact at heart. My journey blends deep expertise in education, humanitarian work, and technology to build meaningful, impactful solutions—especially at the intersection of learning and digital transformation.

Currently serving as CTO of SiagaX Industries, I lead the development of high-impact platforms and tools tailored for crisis response, education reform, and socio-technical innovation. I’m also actively involved in projects under MAPIM Malaysia, building AI-powered tools for education, immersive experiences like the Gaza Time Tunnel VR, and smart systems for humanitarian deployment.

As a full-stack JavaScript developer, I specialize in designing, deploying, and scaling web and mobile applications using Nextjs, Meteor.js, React.js, Node.js, React Native, MongoDB, and TailwindCSS. My frontend/UI approach is informed by years of experience with Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, and motion design with After Effects.

My passion lies in fostering online communities of practice and designing systems that empower learners—believing strongly that technology should aid, not replace, human connections. I view knowledge as co-constructed, shaped by context, perspective, and purpose.

July 2025 - Dr Hafiz has pre-launched a disaster monitoring platform called SiagaX Bencana. Real-time disaster monitoring and alert system for Malaysia. Track water levels, rainfall, and emergency incidents across Malaysia with live updates and interactive maps. Go to SiagaX Bencana

May 2025 - Dr Hafiz and a team of developer has piloted an experimental experience for Virtual Reality (VR) called "Gaza Time Tunnel" during the 4-day Islamic expo at Murthada Dakwah Centre (MADAD) in Sungai Petani, Malaysia. The innovation has garnered interests from various entities, wanting to work with MAPIM on the innovation.

September 2022 - Dr Hafiz has been appointed as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for SiagaX Group, with offices in Cyberjaya and Istanbul. He will be heading the technology division, exploring its exciting new applications beyond the academic scope.

August 2021 - Dr Hafiz delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the topic of "The Lost Generation", during the Kolokium Pendidikan GPMS, organised by the Gabungan Pelajar Melayu Semenanjung (GPMS), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) celebrating their 73rd anniversary on 13th and 14th of August 2021.

July 2021 - Dr Hafiz has been appointed as one of the consultants for a new project under the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. The project looks into the formation of a new meritorial calculations used for admissions into HEIs.

June 2021 - Dr Hafiz represented Malaysia in the 2021 ALCoB ICT Volunteer Online Forum, discussing the impact of pandemic over education, inclusivity, and its future directions. The forum was organised by the Ministry of Education, Republic of Korea with the help from the Institute of APEC Collaborative Education (IACE).

June 2021 - Dr Hafiz started an open-source community project, developing a bespoke pedagogy & technology directory of tools, reviews, and tutorials. This crowdsourcing website will be published during the Malaysian 3rd Movement Control Order Lockdown as a side project. Codenamed "Hack(EduTech);", the source code for this project will be published in a public repository on Github to promote open-source culture among educational technology community.

December 2020 - Dr Hafiz & PM Ts Dr Mahizer has won Silver Medal for their invention at the prestige Seoul International Invention Fair (SIFF2020). Their invention entitled "Kelasruum.io: Learning Analytics Application for Students Academic Profiling Via Classroom-based Assessment" has garnered interests from multiple parties since.

November 2020 - Dr Hafiz has been invited as a panelist representing Malaysia in a virtual event hosted by the Philippines Normal University (PNU) for AsTEN event. Representatives from other countries include Brunei, Laos, Cambodia, and Philippines. During this event, Dr Hafiz shared his work on theme-based approach in designing semester-length virtual instruction during the pandemic COVID-19.

November 2020 - Dr Hafiz has been invited to deliver a keynote speech at the 1st International Conference on Applied Science for Vocational Education 2020, organised by Universitas Brawijaya, Kota Malang, Indonesia. He delivered a talk entitled "Pedagogical Bot: Challenges and Opportunities Amidst Pandemic COVID-19" to more than 150 online participants.

September 2020 - Dr Hafiz has been appointed as the Honorary Secretary General for the Malaysian Educational Technology Association (META) during the annual 14th International Malaysian Educational Technology Convention (IMETC) held at the Sektor Sumber dan Teknologi Pendidikan (SSTP) Negeri Sembilan, MALAYSIA.

November 2019 - Dr Hafiz was invited to talk about 'Teachnology' at TMFaceLive. This radio is run by Communication students at Faculty of Languages and Communication (UPSI), and in collaboration with UMSU, Indonesia. The talk was about integration of technology in teaching and learning

October 2019 - Dr Hafiz has been invited to officiate the 17th Graduation ceremony for MRSM Batu Pahat. Dr Hafiz who is also an MRSM Alumni addressed the 120 students about the virtue of being agile and persevere going forward into their next chapter of academic life.

October 2019 - Dr Hafiz has been invited as a keynote speaker at an international conference in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He delivered a presentation entitled "Towards a Conceptual Framework for Educational Innovation In Fulfilling Students Diversity in the Era of 4.0".

September 2019 - Dr Hafiz co-presented a paper with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Raja Safinas entitled "Way to Go with Eufolia" - a research-based prototyping project that oversee a design, development, and implementation of an e-portfolio prototype, specifically designed for pre-service teachers. Dr Hafiz shared on the technical side of the project, while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Raja Safinas shared on her experience using e-portfolio as a means to understand the development of her students' educator identity.

August 2019 - Dr Hafiz has been appointed as the Director of Akademi Pendidikan/Sekolah Makmal, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Tanjong Malim, Perak. He will be responsible for the design, development, management, and sustainability of a school which will be built in campus.

February 2019 - Dr Hafiz was directly involved in an 'integrated Corporate Social Responsibility' (iCSR) project entitled "Angkat1.0" that saw the building of two houses for Orang Asli Kampung Gurney, Batang Kali. The project was part of CEO@Faculty Programme 2.0 Cycle 2 agenda in bridging academics with community, university, and industry - a quadruple helix project in action. The project was successfully funded by CIMB Foundation, and CCM DuoPharma, with donations amounting to more than RM150k. The wife of Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah was also present during the key handing ceremony.

November 2018 - Dr Hafiz will be speaking at the WordCamp KL 2018, an international conference for WordPress developers and advocates, in Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur this coming 17th November. His session will be on "WordPress Theme for Academics" sharing his experience managing WordPress development projects for academics, as well as the ups and downs of being a developer & an academician. October 2018 - Dr Hafiz has been invited as a moderator for a workshop entitled Higher Education 4.0: Trends and Future Perspectives for Teaching and Learning at University College Yayasan Pahang (UCYP).

October 2018 - Dr Hafiz has been invited as a guess on the early morning talk show 'Selamat Pagi Malaysia' (Good Morning Malaysia) on national television TV1, with Dr Rosemaliza Kamalludeen to talk about their experience as participants of a new collaboration programme between university and the industry, the CEO@Faculty Programme 2.0 'Coached By The Pros'. September 2018 - Dr Hafiz has been appointed as fellow of CEO@Faculty Programme 2.0 Cycle 2, a comprehensive industry attachment programme by the Ministry of Education Malaysia, under the directive of Department of Industry Relation, Higher Education Division. He has been assigned to Al-Ikhsan Sdn. Bhd. where he will spend approximately six months honing his management and leadership skills among other things.
